Chris Collision, Good Books

Another fine book

It’s called Queen City Fall.

It’s by my dear friend Chris Collision.

Parts of QCF (e.g. this part) take place at 1412 Humboldt, an address of no minor activity for Harlan and Toland, the characters in The Bugging Watch & Other Exhibits.

Collision calls QCF a companion piece to a draft version of The Bugging Watch. Mmmmmm, crazy Negative Text.

You probably can’t get Queen City Fall either. It is presently a damn fine draft. When it’s finished you can get it from Chris Collision.

  1. You are too, too kind, my friend! One minor quibble: anybody who wants a copy can have one. They need only shoot me an email with their address…

  2. Do u think Roxy is quite post-Wittig (or would be in the first person): "The women say they have found a very large number of terms to designate the vulva. They say they have kept several for their amusement. The majority have lost their meaning." — Monique Wittig Les GuerilleresMakes me want back my acid-washed jeans.

  3. Gosh, I can safely say that I do not have a comprehensive inventory of terms Roxy might use to designate "the" vulva. One can easily imagine a terminological distinction between one's own and that of another, and that's clearly only the mouth of the cave? tip of the iceberg. (I well remember classifying various labia styles, back in my naked-lady-bar days, for example.)As we discussed, it may be well for Roxy to get a little more first-person time in QCF…I shall investigate further these matters. And, yes, a large portion of this project consists of me sighing over a largely long-lost aesthetic. Where HAVE gone those women in acid-wash & vast white Reeboks?True story: in the late 90s I was dating a woman, call her Roxy, or anyways a Roxy, and I gave her a Motorhead tshirt, on account of we'd seen the band together some number of times. She gave it back, later. I still have the shirt; the woman called me a couple months back to reinforce the idea that we were no longer dating. I was not exactly nonplussed.
